Our song, The Star Spangled Banner, came from the inspiration of the Attack on Fort Henry. Our Flag was "still there", not because of our soldiers, but the resident citizens, who knew the essential value of keeping our flag standing, that they propped and stacked their dead and dying bodies up against it. That's why it was leaning.
Check out this YouTube Video about it:
Satchel Paige never made it to the Big League like Jackie Robinson, but his love for this nation and for the game of baseball made him the greatest ball player to ever play the game, when blacks were considered inferior and treated with attacks of hatred.
Martin Luther King Jr.'s patriotism goes without saying. He gave his life as a martyr for the rights of blacks to be equal citizens. His I have a dream speech is a must read for every American. Read it and download it by clicking here:

Rosa Parks is another great American, who protested against not just racial injustice, but also sexism as a black woman. She is famously known for the incident on the bus.
The women of the feminist movement are American patriots. They were oppressed and were not considered equal. They were then attacked by patriarchal hatred and labeled as anti-American.
Remember this dollar coin? It's of Susan B. Anthony, the symbol of woman's suffrage, the champion for women's rights.
Now in our day we come to Colin Kaepernick. Upset by innocent unarmed black men getting gunned down by white cops, he wanted to do something to demonstrate his protest of the injustice. He chose to peacefully take a knee during the Pledge of Allegiance. For his patriotism he had been shunned from the game and ridiculed by President Trump. When our nation's authorities are violating citizen's inalienable rights the Flag then becomes a representation of that evil, corrupt authority. As a result anyone and everyone who stands and salutes and pledges allegiance to the Fascist symbol of hatred, are the ones who are not true patriots. Alejandro Villanueva is the American symbol now of the civil divide in our country. A true patriot is not our soldiers who kill non-threatening foreigners in far away lands. A true patriot is not local police who shoot and kill innocent American citizens. And a true patriot is not someone who financially supports those who disrespect the original symbol of our flag and disrespects our inalienable Constitutional Rights of Life, Liberty, Property, Justice, Agency, and Equality, with hatred and abusive behavior, and by standing for the pledge. Shame on the majority of our citizens who have chosen to disrespect the flag that our Forefathers at Fort Henry gave their lives to prop up the flag with their dead bodies because they knew that it represented truth, justice and the American way of freedom and equality for future generations (our generation). Get your priorities straight America!!!
