Weebly just notified me of changes to their terms and policies, one of which being a "stronger stand against hate speech". This is a good thing in our society that is using social media to promote hatred, but I'm still concerned. Protestors and victims of hate are being blamed for causing and giving hate speech. Victims of rape who post their rape have their social media shut down as do those who protest police brutality, nationalism and Trump. With Trump's social media being shut down as a social commentary resulting in the social media site claiming Trump is allowed hate speech because of his political position, makes us question the "stand" social media is taking to stem hate speech. So I'm concerned as to the true intentions of Weebly. I am a nobody, I only get 100 views per day, nowhere near the 100's of thousands of views of a majority of social media posts, many of whom are by nobodies like me. I have caught the attention of the Russians, but otherwise no one seems to be quoting my posts. So as a nobody will I be treated unequally when I post my disapproval of authoritative corruption? Will Weebly close my recently upgraded account now three years of service because I post an opinion that the President and all of Congress need to be removed from office or that an LDS Church leader said false doctrine? Or will Weebly shut me down when I tell my personal story as a victim of abuse? Will Weebly try to extort me to silence or censorship because I use their service? Where does Weebly stand because they aren't telling? I will not live in fear to post because of the threat of being silenced, censored, or banned. I do not hate people, I hate corruption and abuse of authority whether it is governmental, religious, societal, or business. We need change in our societal behavior, but it needs to be based upon Constitutional rights.
