Sept. 23, 2017 9:45 a.m.There's more that Cox is not aware of: 1 - DWS who issues SNAP, depending on the President, requires, to a level of enforcement, that people pursue getting a job. Once a job is obtained SNAP is cut depending on the level of income received. 2 - Those in need are not just those out of work, but also the physically and mentally disabled who don't qualify for SSDI. DWS pressures those physically and mentally disabled to get work, even if their diagnosis is a permanent condition. The reason why so little is given is that our government doesn't want to create a Welfare State, so those who are in a permanent condition are literally tortured by our government by receiving only $4.20 for food, which forces them to seek other help, which DWS considers "income" to be reported and thus cuts the amount given. So most of the added help goes unreported to DWS in order to survive. And don't get me started on the treatment of those with families/spouses, or the money granted for hygiene and other necessities. This is a bigger crisis than Cox finally came to the realization of, but now the question is, what if anything will he actually do about it?
