Sept. 22, 2017 5:54 a.m.The reality is, is that SS is an insurance. Like all insurance companies they will do all they can to refuse, withhold, limit, lessen, whatever, the money we need to survive. For auto insurance we are required to hire an accident lawyer, because when we need the money to fix our transportation we are denied a (full) return on our investment. When natural disaster strikes, again we are required to have insurance or we have to replace our property ourselves, but those who have insurance are also denied a (full) return on their investment. SS is no different. We invest $ on our paychecks to guarantee a return on our investment in our later years. The next reality is that SS doesn't pay enough to live on in the first place and they make excuses in order to deny a (full) return on our investment. We were told by SS just this year, that our reporting for 2016 was wrong and were therefore cutting our SS. After we proved to them they were wrong, they are now saying that we didn't report "on time" from April - July of this year, which is another lie. They will not budge and keep causing us to suffer for the lack of SS we are in desperate need of in order to survive. No lawyer option here.
